RMMBC makes arrangements for meet accommodations on the SFU campus with special rates for RMMBC participants.
The advantages are:
– Very economical (in our experience the best rates possible)
– Easy walk to the RMMBC meeting rooms for the on-campus events
(of course, layout tours, ops sessions, etc. take place off-campus)
SFU offers two types of accommodations:
– Dorm style rooms: private (single occupancy), lowest cost, but basic
– The Simon: hotel style rooms of various configurations
NOTE: Typically the RMMBC Simon rooms sell out quickly. Book early.
Alternately, a diverse variety of other accommodation options are available in the Vancouver area. Here are some approximate distances/times from various points:
– Coquitlam area – 6km, 9-10 mins by car, transit times would depend on specifics
– Downtown Vancouver – 15 km, 25 minutes by car, 45 minutes by direct transit
– New Westminster waterfront – 11km, 22 minutes by car, 45-50 minutes by transit (with transfers)

Tucked within SFU’s modern Courtyard Residence building, SFU Private Residence Rooms offer clean, comfortable, single-occupancy spaces—perfect for individual travellers seeking a convenient and affordable stay on campus.
Features a cozy common lounge with a TV, sink, and microwave, plus a quiet study room on each floor. Shared (private) washrooms, with sinks, showers, and toilets, are located throughout each floor.

Located on the third floor of the Courtyard Residence Building—a contemporary, purpose-built space designed with your comfort in mind—The Simon offers a serene and inviting stay year-round.
Room Type: Double Queen rooms (each room has 2 queen beds)

Note that you book directly with SFU and RMMBC is not involved other than providing your booking code. You are responsible for your relationship with SFU.

** Residence and Housing Guest Accommodations main office is located on the 2000 level of the Phase 2 / Courtyard Residence which is near the entrance of the West Mall Parkade.

Individual Payment Groups (with group code)
For groups where guests are booking and paying individually, all cancellations and modification requests must be submitted by email to guest_services@sfu.ca. To be eligible for a refund, cancellation requests must be received at least two (2) weeks prior to arrival, and cancellations made less than two weeks before arrival are not eligible for a refund. Modification requests, including changes to dates or room types, are subject to availability and must also be received at least two (2) weeks prior to arrival. Refunds and adjustments are only processed once written notice of cancellation or modification has been received.
