This workshop will provide introductory information about the DCC-EX product. It will also explore common scenarios and answer frequent questions.
What is DCC-EX?
DCC-EX is the name of a product that that is an open source DCC & DC solution to run your entire model railroad layout. It has been developed by a team of dedicated enthusiasts. It is also that name that most people associate the “EX‑CommandStation”. It is a low-cost full function DCC Command station and booster. The DCC-EX is Arduino based and Open-Sourced.

Prerequisites
- Basic knowledge of DCC.
- Basic knowledge of the Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment).
- Attend the setup ZOOM session prior to the RMMBC Meet.
What to Bring
- A Laptop.
- A stick of flex-track.
- A DCC equipped Locomotive.
- A WiFi capable smart device like a phone or tablet to control your trains (aka a “Throttle”).
- DCC-EX system. Bring your own or select the “DCC-EX Purchase option when registering.”
Note: If you bring your own DCC-EX, do not forget to bring your power supply and USB cable.
