AI Tools: New Opportunities for Modelling
Summary
Artificial “Intelligence” (AI) tools offer exciting new opportunities for modelling. This clinic explores using AI tools making use of available image resources to produce complex and distinctive building and scenery details that can be 3D printed.
Description
Learn how to go from an image to a backdrop or 3D printed model for your layout in a few hours and little cost. I will demonstrate how you can use your own images or online sources such as Google Maps to generate clean images for backdrops. You can also produce 3D models suitable for further editing and printing with a resin 3D printer. Examples will include distinctive road signs, statues and unique buildings, all of which would be challenging to model with conventional approaches. I will review the simple workflow and identify challenges and limitations of the methods.
