Time is an analog quantity, especially railway time. So, I decided to create a JMRI controlled analog clock.<br><br>This clinic will cover the design and modification of an analog clock. The idea is simple, replace the guts with a stepper motor. But as always, the devil is in the details. We\u2019ll cover those details, so that you could build your own clock.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Selecting a clock to be retrofitted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Appropriate stepper motor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assembly with stepper motor, Arduino, and sensor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Software for Arduino.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installing and configuring MQTT.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Configuring JMRI and LogixNG.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where to obtain components (around $35 including a clock).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Geoff<\/strong><br>Geoff retired a few years ago and picked up on his childhood love of model railroading. He is modelling British Rail steam at a small town in Shropshire in the 1950\u2019s. He has an extensive software, automation and electronics background.
