|Esquimalt & Nanaimo Railway Nanoose Division by Steve Stark|
Ride Train # 1”The Malahat” Dayliner from Victoria to Courtenay Watch rare Baldwin DRS 4-4-1000s and DS 4-4-1000s at work. Visit logging operations at Ladysmith including the last vestiges of steam and more. The Nanoose Division models most of the key features of the entire E & N Victoria and Port Alberni subdivisions, and a portion of the Lake Cowichan subdivision along with portions of the Canadian National Railway, Comox Logging & Railway Company, MacMillan Blodel’s Nanaimo Lakes railway and the Canadian Collieries (D) Ltd. Interchange on two levels with a16” separation joined by a helix. The model year is 1969 (with some Rule 1 exceptions); a time when MacBlo still ran steam, the E & N Baldwin fleet was intact and before the CPR removed a significant amount of infrastructure in the mid-70s. All track work is complete except for a small portion of the MacBlo track in Port Alberni. About 80%of the scenery is finished. The painted backdrop represents the prototype locations behind the modelled layout.
